Dr. Jennifer Miller

Veterinarian

Dr. Miller’s special interests at WAH are surgery; specializing in Laser surgery, feline medicine and sight hounds. She works hard to help implement stress free practices and care for our feline patients to help make more enjoyable visits. Dr. Miller Joined WAH in 2005 and became Co-Owner in June of 2012. Dr. Miller has a Bachelor’s degree from JMU and graduated Cum Laude with her veterinary degree from Tuskegee University in 1996. Dr. Miller is an adjunct professor for Veterinary Technicians through Blue Ridge Community College. She works with and helps train new veterinary professionals coming into the field. Dr. Miller lives with her two sons Riley and Wesley. Her family has 2 horses, a dog, 6 cats and 2 turkeys. In addition she raises all natural chickens for egg production. In her spare time she enjoys tap dancing and Irish step dancing.

Dr. Kelley

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Kelley enjoys all aspects of internal medicine. She utilizes her extensive range of knowledge and diagnostic testing to help her patients. This combined with her kind, compassionate care has allowed her to be able to diagnose and treat many different conditions ranging from everyday issues to rare diseases. Dr. Kelley joined WAH as a high school kennel attendant in 1983. She completed her undergraduate degree in 1991 at Juniata College in Pennsylvania, after which she spent 3 years in the Brethren Volunteer Service teaching English in Poland. She graduated from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. She and her husband have 2 sons, 2 cats, 1 energetic dog and thousands of honeybees. In her free time she enjoys being involved in her church family, hiking, biking, reading and working outside.

Dr. Julie Bullock

Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Bullock enjoys all aspects of feline and canine surgery. She provides efficient quality surgeries and always enjoys tackling new challenges that can come from complex surgeries. She graduated from Virginia Tech in 1989 with a Degree in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Bullock is a huntsman and has been an active participant in the Fort Defiance Hounds. Some of her favorite pastimes are landscaping and trail riding with her horses and competing in endurance races. She has 6 horses, 4 dogs, 3 cats and a pig. Her dogs include two retired foxhounds, DD a jack Russel mix and Jolene the “best blue heeler ever!” She is an avid supporter of the livestock conservancy. She owns several Spanish Mustangs (Spanish Colonial Horses) and helps promote the breed due to the declining number of these special horses.

Bo Lewis

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Bo enjoys the surgery and hospitalization side of Veterinary medicine the most. Including, monitoring patients during anesthesia, placing IV catheters, and dealing with surgical emergencies. He also enjoys looking at lab work and cytologies of difficult cases to aid in the diagnosis of our patients. He pursued Veterinary Medicine because of both a deep love of animals and the science of medicine. Bo graduated Cum Laude from Blue Ridge Community College in 2015 with an Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology and has been a Technician at Woodworth Animal Hospital ever since then. Outside of work, he enjoys spending quality time with his fiancée and step son, fishing, riding motorcycles, painting models, taking walks with his dog and napping with his cats.

Makayla Bennett

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Makayla pursued vet med due to her love for animals and her need to help those that cannot help themselves. Since being here at Woodworth she has discovered she enjoys many aspects of what being a technician entails but ultimately she really enjoys being in surgery and doing blood draws, although there is something new to learn every day. Makayla Graduated from Blue Ridge Community College with an Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology in May of 2022. She previously graduated from Bridgewater College with a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science. Makayla has been here at WAH since 2020 starting off in our kennel and working her way to the technician she is today. When not in work she enjoys spending time with her husband and dog finding things to do outside like hiking or lying on the beach.

Sarah Hanson

Operations Coordinator & Senior Vet Assistant

Sarah’s main goal here at WAH is to make sure every animal (and their owner) that enters the practice has a positive experience and receives top notch quality care. On top of patient care she really enjoys assisting in surgery, working with feral cats, client communication and expanding her knowledge within the Vet Med field. Sarah joined WAH in 2016 as a kennel attendant; her passion for animals and this style of work helped her quickly work her way up the ladder to senior Veterinary Assistant, Animal Care coordinator and now as our Operations Coordinator! She has been expanding her knowledge within the field getting certified as a Customer service representative and will be completing the Fear free course next! Sarah also does the photos and website design for us! Check out some of her photos of our amazing staff featured on our website and in our lobby! Outside of work she enjoys hiking with her dog, kayaking, making art, traveling to new places with her friends and chilling at home with her Cats!
